Marketing Your Small Business
How can winning and marketing awards can help your business grow?
I’m pretty excited for my client, Firelight Media Group, LLC. They have been nominated for an Emmy® Award this year, yes you heard me right an Emmy® Award. The Emmy® Awards salute excellence in national primetime programming. Winning the Primetime Emmy® is a symbol of peer recognition from over 15,000 Television Academy members and more than two-dozen peer groups who vote for the category of competition in their field of expertise.
They have been nominated in two categories:
Community Auditions: Star of the Day John Paul Peregrin, Live Audio Engineer Armstrong Interactive, Inc
Byron Campbell, Producer
Nick DeBeauvernet, Post- Production Audio Engineer
OUTSTANDING DIRECTOR-POST PRODUCTION
Community Auditions: Star of the Day William Sarris, Director, Post Production Armstrong Interactive, Inc.
Steven Kline, Producer
Byron Campbell, Producer
What an accomplishment to even receive a nomination. This isn’t the first time they have been nominated. The’ve already won an Emmy! So we were so excited to hear about this year’s nomination and we wanted to share the news. I’m really proud of them and really thankful that we have such successful small business owners in the area who can offer, affordable cutting edge experience in video, audio, multimedia and web projects.
This nomination got me thinking about how winning and marketing awards can help your business grow. Marketing your small business is important.
Here are 4 potential benefits your business could receive by applying for, winning and marketing any awards you get for your company:
- Obtain and Retain Amazing Employees
- New Business
- Potential Investors
- Recognition & Inspiration
Current and prospective employees like to work for a winning company. Awards can not only inspire current employees to have pride in where they work, but also lead to happy customers. It’s important to include your team in on the celebrations of “big” wins so they feel included and inspired.
When prospective customers find out that you have been awarded for your work, it could be the extra push needed to close the deal. Sometimes people don’t buy because they have doubts in the service they might receive. When they read testimonials or see that you have been awarded for your products / services, this just re-afirms that you’re the company they want to hire.
Awards can help with potential investors and bank loans too. Banks and potential investors want to work with a quality businesses.
Lastly, a pat on the back feels great. It’s rewarding to be recognized for your work. We all spend a lot of time at work. To be rewarded for your efforts is an amazing feeling. It’s what gets us out of bed each morning and what allows us to recognzie that our efforts are worth while.
“Recognition is the greatest motivator.” ~ Gerard C. Eakedale
Here’s the thing about winning awards, you can’t just ‘win’ an award, you need to win AND tell everyone about it. Distribute a press release regarding the award and use the term ‘award-winning’ wherever possible. You can also include the recognition on your website, in your email marketing campaigns, email signature, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook etc. and in your marketing materials.
Awards are a great way to gain recognition for you, your team, your business and your website. They bring prestige and more traffic to you, and they enhance your credibility as a business.
So the next time you win an award or become nominated for one like our client, Firelight Media Group, LLC , be proud of your accomplishments and utilize the recognition you receive to let your business grow. Help your small business marketing efforts by telling everyone about your accomplishments.
