- Find a way to be different or creative in a cost-effective way.
- Get your best clients to refer you no matter what it takes.
- Do not compete on price.
- Absolutely ensure that every client you have knows about every service or product you offer.
- Turn every challenge into an opportunity
- Don’t just think out of the box, jump out of it!
- Don’t be afraid to ask other people’s advice.
- Show gratitude
Cut costs and cut deep, but don’t cut off your nose to spite your face. It’s important to balance what you do today with the bigger picture. Some savings you achieve today may come back to bite you later.
Do everything you possibly can to stay in touch with your existing clients. Remind your current clients that they’re special – it’s rare that anyone who provides them with goods or services ever does. It will make you stand apart.
If you can’t do anything else, differentiate yourself from your competitors on things that matter: Quality of products and services. Make yourself unique by simply being the best at what you do. Loyal clients are also proud to tell others they do business with you.
Cutting prices is the fastest way to cutting your business to ribbons. You absolutely must resist the temptation to compete on price. Has Apple Computer cut its prices? Any time you decide to cut your prices, ask yourself why Apple doesn’t, but you think you should.
Got a prospect you can’t get to? Ask yourself why and then figure out how to overcome the obstacle(s). Now is NOT the time to be even the slightest bit defeatist or complacent. If they use your services or products and are not getting them from you, then now is the time to step up.
In this country a millionaire is being created every day. Ask yourself why it isn’t you and what you can do about it. It may just be possible that you are the biggest obstacle to your own success.
Be open to learning. No one is perfect. We all can learn. So admit that even an old dog can learn new tricks. Open your ears and your mind and listen to what others have to say – family, friends, clients, other business owners.
Remember to be grateful of what you have.
